  Being a Veteran Lowes was a good store. That's in the past. I did not officially sign up for the Veterans program because I REFUSED to surrender my SSAN. Without jumping through hoops the discount is gone. I abandoned my intended purchases at the counter after being told that is the way it is by 2 cashiers and left. I called the store manager who told me I could have had the Veteran discount if I had only asked for him. So here is the result - Lowes has lost my business, I will WARN VETERANS of piss poor treatment and I guess I should have been a mind reader. After leaving Lowes I drove down the road and was treated with respect and kindness at HD. Veterans take note!!!
